Welcome to the Mt. Carmel Swim and Dive Team website!

Below are the athletes that have been invited to CIF or are part of potential relays.  If your name is listed whether for an individual event or relay you will still be practicing next week.

Only the top-24 times from all of San Diego Division II make the meet in each event. We are also only allowed to submit 4 swimmers per event. If you had a consideration cut and your name is not listed, than your time was outside the top-24 invited to the meet.  All automatic cuts, even if there are more than 24, will be swimming in the meet.   Relays list 8 swimmers and while not all swimmers will compete, all 8 should be there on Monday and should plan on riding the bus on Thursday. You may be listed on all 3 relays but will only swim 2.  Decisions about who the actual relay swimmers are will be made before the meet.  Unfortunately, any swimmer not listed on the CIF roster will have to come over to the meet after school on Thursday.  You will be required to pay admission, but they should let you down on deck to be with the team.

Club Swimmers are still following the practice schedule given at the beginning of the season as long as you are attending your club practices and we will see you Wednesday night.

Boys claim Palomar League title winning over rival Torrey by 120 Points!

After winning last year by 40 points, the boy's team increased their dominance over the Palomar League by crushing the field at the 2012 Championships.  It was a huge effort with 27 Top-8 Swims and 6 Consolation Swims!

Champions on the day were Nguyen Hong (100 Fly), Grant Schenk (500 Free), 200 Free Relay (Grant Schenk, Nguyen Hong, Tyler Kidd, Derek Sultz), and Minh Hong (100 Back).

Special Notes: 1st Time CIF cuts were made by Jacob Weber and Kyle Kenny and Minh won the 100 Back as a Freshman. For the most part, the entire team had time drops at the meet making it one of the most successful meets in team history!

Girls Close Gap on Torrey to Finish Runner Up in League!

In an amazing effort, the girls left it all in the pool and made a huge push to take a shot at the league title.  While it was disappointing to come up just a mere 20 points short, considering the Torrey Pines girls won the meet last year 235 points ahead of 2nd and 266 points ahead of Mt. Carmel it shows the heart and determination that the girls had on their run.  I am so proud of the effort and everyone should hold their head up high about who we are after this meet.

Champions include 200 Medley Relay (Georgia Reilly, Christine Smith, Sabrina Hughes, Dana Jones), and Georgia Reilly (100 Back).  Georgia Reilly's backstroke time of 58.90 was a new school record eclipsing Whitney Spence set in 2005.   We also had four 2nd places with Georgia getting 2nd in the IM and Dana Jones(50, 100 Free) and Freshman Sabrina Hughes(100 Fly).

Special Notes: With Georgia winning the 100 Back, we had two freshman win the 100 Backstroke this year for Mt. Carmel.
